How to add Google Analytics to your TalentLMS training portal

With Google Analytics you can track things like traffic on your training portal, traffic sources, pages visited within your portal, the duration and location of those visits. You can identify the best and worst performing courses based on traffic and how long the user was engaged on that page.

If you don’t have a Google Analytics account yet you would need to set up an account first and then follow the steps below:

1. Sign in to your Analytics account.

2. Once you have logged in click on the Admin tab at the top (1).

3. You can either create a new Account for your TalentLMS property (2)

or you can add this as a property under an existing Account (3).

You need to fill in your TalentLMS website details 

 and click on Get Tracking ID button or you can get the Tracking information later Under PROPERTY, click Tracking Info > Tracking Code.

4. Copy the Tracking code (4)

and paste it into your TalentLMS additional Javascript area:

5. Once you have successfully installed Analytics tracking, it may take up to 24 hours for data such as traffic referral information, user characteristics, and browsing information to appear in your reports. However, you can check your web tracking code setup immediately.

If your branches share the same theme as the one where you added the Tracking code then traffic to branches will be tracked as well. If however your branches have a different theme then the one containing the tracking code, you would have to add a separate tracking code to the Javascript of each theme.

Note: Mobile app visits are not being recorded on Google Analytics.
